Turkish Insurance market results in 2017

Turkish insurance accounted for 46.5 billion TRY (13.29 billion USD) in turnover in 2017. With 39.66 billion TRY (11.34 billion USD), the non-life class of business, up by 11% in comparison with 2016, contributed up to 85.3% of premiums versus 14.7% for life insurance (6.84 billion TRY, 1.95 billion USD).

The technical result of life insurance grew by 47% going from 888 million TRY (252.26 million USD) in 2016 up to 1.31 billion TRY (374.4 million USD) in 2017. The non-life class of business has exhibited a more moderate progression of 24% at 2.27 billion TRY (648.77 million USD).
