Two news stakeholders in the top 50 leading reinsurers

Fidelis and Lancashire joined the top 50 global reinsurers in 2020, both of these Bermuda-based reinsurers hold the 41^st and 43^rd positions in the ranking, respectively.

Another notable change pertains to Qianhai Re (China), standing in 34^th position and achieving the strongest growth, going up five places. Arch Capital (Bermuda), Generali (Italy) and Caisse Centrale de Réassurance (France) moved up four places to 18^th, 19^th and 26^th ranking respectively.

Conversely, Hiscox had gone down seven places to 47^th position while IRB and Qatar Re both drop six places to 31^st and 50^th respectively.

It is also worth noting that Africa Re, the only African reinsurer in the top 50, had moved up from 41^st place in 2019 to 45^th ranking in 2020.
