Unusual: A farmer receives a 20-wagon train as compensation

Unusual compensation. A farmer in Northern India, in dispute with the national railway company "Indian Railways", has been granted by the court an express train as compensation for a land that has been underpaid to him.

In disagreement with the company since 2015, the farmer never managed to get paid the 10 million INR (153 105 USD) granted by the justice.

After several trials to recover the arrears, the farmer has obtained the agreement of the court to seize the property belonging to the railway company. His choice was for an express train of 20 wagons. Justice has given him as an extra compensation the ownership of the station master's office in Ludhiana city.

The train and the station master's office will be auctioned if the "Indian Railways" do not compensate the farmer as soon as possible.
