U.S. life and non-life insurance market in 2021

American insurance market Non-life companies on the American insurance market recorded a 21.48% turnover decrease in 2021. The latter went from 731.91 billion USD in 2020 to 574.68 billion USD one year later.

The first non-life company, State Farm, generated 70.31 billion in premiums, that is, 12.24% of the non-life market turnover. Progressive and Allstate rank second and third respectively with a turnover of 47.76 billion USD and 41.06 billion USD in 2021.

As for the local life insurance companies, they posted 159.74 billion USD of premium income in 2021, a decrease of 7.9% compared to 173.45 billion USD recorded in 2020. The first three life insurance companies alone collected 39.01 billion USD of premiums in 2021. They represent 24.42% of the total premiums written in the United States in 2021.
