WAICA is expecting a repositioning of African Reinsurance

The West African Insurance Companies Association (WAICA), founded in 1973 by five countries, (Gambia, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ghana and Nigeria), has asked oil companies and other major players in the economic region to use up reinsurance’ regional capacity before turning to international markets.
WAICA emphasizes the protection of foreign currency reserves and the sufficient financial capacity of local reinsurers.
