Watania: 2020 results

National Takaful Company (Watania) recorded a 6.8% turnover decrease in 2020. The number stood at 321.505 million AED (87.51 million USD) against 344.788 million AED (93.85 million USD) in 2019. The health and motor classes of business account for 89.3% of all premiums in 2020.

The net profit jumped from 13.132 million AED (3.57 million USD) as at 31 December 2019 to 18.429 million AED (5.01 million USD) at the end of 2020, representing a 40.3% increase over one year.

The company's technical result was up by 36.9% to reach 57.763 million AED (15.72 million USD) at the end of December 2020.

The investment income amounted to 3 171 million AED (863 210 USD), a 48.8% decline compared to 2019.
