Winter storm Friederike causes heavy damage

Winter storm Friederike, which hit Western Europe from January 17 to 19, 2018, would generate economic losses of around 2.6 billion EUR (3.2 billion USD), says AIR Woldwide, the US firm of modelling natural catatrophes.

Also known as "David" in France and Belgium, this storm caused heavy damage in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Belgium and the Netherlands. Eleven died in road accidents and falling trees due mainly to these storms.
