Women allowed to drive, a new niche for insurers in Saudi Arabia

Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman signed a decree on September 26, 2017 authorizing women to drive a vehicle.

The decision, which will take effect in June 2018, will boost demand for motor insurance in the kingdom. Following this announcement, the insurers's stakes have increased by 4% reaching their highest level since March 2017.

According to official statistics, Saudi Arabia has almost 10 million women (Saudis and foreigners) over 20 years old.
