World Trade Center, Swiss Re will pay USD 877 million USD only

Conclusion of the lawsuit involving the American property developer Larry Silverstein, holder of the World trade Center lease and the pool of 13 insurers implicated in the September 11, 2001 disaster.

The jury's decision claiming that the destruction of both buildings is a sole and same event makes Swiss Re stand as the main beneficiary of the ruling.

The number 2 world Swiss reinsurer will have to pay only 877 million dollars and not double that amount. As a reminder, the Twin Towers were insured for the sum of 3.5 billion dollars.
