According to the GAIF, the Arab world is underinsured

According to Said Abdul Khalek Khalil, the Secretary General of the Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF), insurance premiums do not represent more than 1% of the Arab world GDP despite the presence of 350 insurance and reinsurers companies in the region which remains one of the most underinsured in the world.
