Aircraft captain suspended for life for violation of aviation safety

November 08, 2019

cockpitOn the 4th of November 2019, the Chinese airline Air Guilin, a subsidiary of Hainan Airlines, suspended one of its captains for life.

Early this year, the latter broke all the aviation safety measures by allowing a passenger to enter the cockpit. A social media photo shows a woman sitting in the captain’s seat while the aircraft was in flight.

Even if the aircraft was on autopilot, Air Guilin considers this behavior to be inconsistent with the safety measures and a threat to passengers.

The flight crew, who should have informed the airline of the captain’s irresponsible behaviour, was also sanctioned for an undetermined period of time.
