AM Best has published its 2023 ranking of the world's leading reinsurance companies.
In this particular edition, the rating agency has reconciled the 2023 financial statements under the new IFRS 17 accounting standards with others still published under the previous accounting standards.
Unlike previous editions, in which the world's top 50 reinsurers were ranked in a single list, in 2023 reinsurers are classified into two separate rankings: the first one according to gross reinsurance revenue (IFRS 17), and the second according to gross written premiums (excluding IFRS 17).
