Amanda Blanc appointed president of the Association of British Insurers (ABI)

Amanda Blanc, general manager of Zurich EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and former CEO of Axa UK & Ireland has been appointed president of the Association of British Insurers (ABI).

This is the first time that a woman is appointed to head the institution, in existence for more than 100 years.

A. Blanc succeeds Andy Briggs, general manager of Aviva UK who retains his status as a member of the ABI's board of directors.
