Aon falls victim of a cyberattack

On 25 February 2022, Aon was hit by a cyberattack. The broker stated that the incident did not have a significant impact on its business, operations or financial situation.

The information available to brokers, insurers and reinsurers, makes them appealing targets for cybercriminals. It should be recalled that the insurer CNA was the target of a ransomware attack in 2021. A 40 million USD ransom was paid to avoid the release of the stolen data.
