Appointment of Anusha Thavarajah as new president of LIAM

For the first time in 44 years, the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) nominated a lady to preside over the institution. Anusha Thavarajah, chief executive officer of AIA Bhd, is now tasked to run the association. She takes over Toi See Jong who has terminated his three-year term.

A. Thavarajah graduated from the University of Birmingham and the Institute of Actuaries (United Kingdom). She has been in the insurance business for 25 years.
