Axa Climate: Insurance against non-growing rapeseeds

Through its subsidiary Axa Climate, specializing in parametric insurance, AXA is testing a climatic cover against non-growing rape seedlings. The new product is intended for seed companies and covers drought risk based on a climate index.

The first tests were carried out on 40 000 hectares in France and Romania. For the record, multiple droughts in Great Britain, France and Eastern Europe heavily impacted the rapeseed cultivation.
