Bachir Baddou, new Vice-President of the Global Federation of Insurance Associations

Bachir Baddou, Deputy Vice- President of the Moroccan Insurance Federation (FMA), has been appointed Vice- President of the Global Federation of Insurance Associations (GFIA).
B. Baddou first joined GFIA in 2016 as a member of the Executive Committee.
The appointment was announced at the GFIA General Assembly, held on 4 December 2024 in Cape Town, South Africa.
The election comes as part of a change in the association's executive committee. The new team is made up of:
- President: Stephen Frank, President and CEO, Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA)
- Vice- President: Bachir Baddou, Deputy Vice-President, Moroccan Insurance Federation (FMA)
- Secretary General: Thea Utoft Høj Jensen, Director General, Insurance Europe
- Treasurer: Toyonari Sasaki, Vice- Chairman, Life Insurance Association of Japan
- Regional Representative: Andrew Hall, CEO and Executive Director, Insurance Council of Australia
- Membership Executive: Norma Alicia R, General Director, Mexican Association of Insurance Companies (AMIS)
Founded in 2012, GFIA currently represents 42 insurance associations and federations from 68 member countries, accounting for 89% of global premiums.
