The Bangladeshi insurance market hit a double-digit growth in 2018

The Bangladeshi insurance market has recorded a turnover of 124.38 billion BDT (1.47 billion USD) in 2018, increasing by 11.25% compared to 2017. Once again, Bangladesh records a double-digit growth after a stagnation period from 2011 to 2017.

The Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) claims that such a premium growth resulted from the tariff increases of contracts. The life and non-life activities have respectively recorded an increase of 9.16% and 11.7% in 2018.
