Casablanca insurance meeting

The event was opened by Mohamed Boussaid, Minister of Economy and Finance. He reiterated the authorities' commitment to continue the amelioration of the regulatory framework governing the insurance sector. Amendments introducing new insurance obligations in construction and a legal framework for Takaful insurance have been submitted.

The reform of the insurance code also covers the revision of certain provisions allowing the introduction of the principle of risk-based solvency and strengthening the governance and transparency of insurance and reinsurance companies. The revision of intermediaries' sector and of the bill covering the consequences of catastrophic events is currently under study.
