COPE: Malek Smaili, new Regional Director for North Africa

Malek Smaili has been appointed COPE's Regional Director for North Africa, effective 1 June 2025.

Founded in 2023, COPE is a Cyprus-based investment group specializing in insurance and reinsurance brokerage, consulting and operational management. The company is also present in Lebanon.

M. Smaili holds a Master's degree in Risk Management, Insurance and Reinsurance from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce (ESC).

He embarked on his professional career in 2007 as Account Executive with Aon Tunisia, before being promoted to Senior Account Executive in 2014.

In November 2014, he joined At-Takafulia as Technical Director in charge of reinsurance and non-life classes of business (Motor, P&C and Transport).

In 2020, after six years with At-Takafulia, M. Smaili was appointed Reinsurance Director of ASTREE.
