Covid-19: the cost of global vaccination

Vaccinating 70% of the world's population against Covid-19 is estimated to cost 157 billion USD by 2025. According to health data specialist Iqvia, most of this cost will be allocated to fiscal years 2020, 2021 and 2022.

In the longer term, this charge is expected to decrease as vaccine prices fall from an average of 22 USD per dose in 2021 to 19 USD in 2022, 9 USD in 2023, 7 USD in 2024 and 5 USD in 2025.

In its study, Iqvia anticipates the use of single-dose vaccines, a switch to booster vaccinations every two years, and an increase in the production of cheaper vaccines.
