Doha Insurance Group expands reinsurance operations into India

Doha Insurance Group (DIG) was granted a "Certificate of Registration" from the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) to establish a reinsurance branch in India.

Based at the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City International Financial Services Centre (GIFT IFSC), the Doha Insurance Group IFSC Branch started operations on 26 March 2025.

As a reminder, DIG had already obtained, in December 2024, the approval of the Central Bank of Qatar to open a branch in India.

The structure is managed by Rony Daniel, former Chief Operating Officer (COO) of DIG.
