ERGO International AG, a subsidiary of Munich Re, has received regulatory approval from the relevant authorities to acquire ADB Gjensidige, the Lithuanian non-life insurance subsidiary of the Norwegian insurance group Gjensidige Forsikring. The transaction also includes ADB Gjensidige’s branches in Estonia and Latvia.
This acquisition follows the signing of an agreement between ERGO and Gjensidige Forsikring on 25 July 2024.
Upon completion of the transaction, ADB Gjensidige’s operations will be integrated into ERGO’s activities. The legal merger of the two entities is expected to be finalized by the end of 2026.
Until then, both companies will continue to operate independently.
Through this transaction, ERGO will further strengthen its position in the Baltic insurance market.
