Peter Zaffino, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of American International Group (AIG), will step down as CEO in mid-2026 and assume the role of Executive Chairman.
Eric Andersen will succeed him as Chief Executive Officer, effective 16 February 2026. Andersen will report to Zaffino and will formally assume his responsibilities on 1 June 2026, following a transition period.
A seasoned industry executive, Andersen joins AIG after a 30-year career at Aon, where he held several senior leadership roles, including President from 2020 to 2025.
