Extreme storms and tornadoes rage across the USA

Violent storms and tornadoes swept across the central and southern USA on 14 March 2025.

Several States, including Missouri, Kansas, Texas and Arkansas, were severely affected. Local authorities reported at least 33 deaths and dozens of injuries. Over 200 000 homes and businesses were left without power.

The disaster triggered dust storms and several fires, including 130 reported in some communities in the State of Oklahoma. The storms also left a trail of destroyed homes and warehouses, overturned trucks, trees and toppled power lines.

On 16 March 2025, authorities warned of the arrival of new severe thunderstorms, accompanied by frequent lightning, gusty winds, hail and tornadoes.
