Fatal floods sweep across Asia

For several days, severe flooding and landslides have affected several countries across Asia.

On 16 September 2026, torrential rains lashed Thailand, leaving eight people dead. More than 4,900 people were evacuated to shelters, while around 52,000 households were affected by the flooding.

The heavy rains also struck southern Myanmar, where eight people were killed.

In India, severe weather claimed 56 lives, while neighboring Nepal reported 12 deaths, with 11 people still missing.
