Firas El Azem has been appointed Director General of the Syrian Insurance Supervisory Commission (SISC).
F. El Azem holds a degree in business administration from the University of Cologne. He began his professional career in 1991 at Munich Re, where, during 15 years, he held several management positions in Germany, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.
Throughout his career, F. El Azem has also held senior positions at several insurance companies, including Arig (Bahrain), Arope Syria, Takaful Re (United Arab Emirates), and Atlantic Re (formerly SCR Morocco).
