The Office of the Insurance Commission (OIC) estimates insured losses of more than 420 million THB (13 million USD) resulting from the September 2024 floods in northern and northeastern Thailand.
408 million THB (12.6 million USD) of this amount would be borne by motor insurers. For home insurance, the cost would be 10 million THB (308,000 USD) for the 865 houses, buildings and stores that were damaged.
According to the OIC, 20 177 hectares of insured rice fields were affected by the floods. The cost of the damage is currently being assessed.
