Guarantee Fund, payment of 4.48 million USD in compensation for motor claims in 2012

According to the department of insurance and social welfare (DAPS), the Guarantee Fund of traffic accidents processed 2 817 new cases in 2012, compared to 2 300 in 2011. The files examined for the 2012 occurrence year account for 18% of all claims filed.

The number of victims reached 5 462, 5003 of whom were injured and 459 killed. Files opened for unlicensed drivers totaled 333, increase of 57.82 % compared to 2011. The total amount of compensation paid in 2012 amounted to 37.81 million MAD (4.48 million USD).
