Heavy Rain and Flooding in Mecca

On 26 August 2026, heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms triggered severe flooding in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

This weather event occurred just a few hours after the National Meteorological Center issued a red alert warning of rainfall in certain regions of the Kingdom.

The flooding turned several streets into rivers and disrupted traffic. Vehicles were also submerged by the floodwaters.
