International Airlines Group IAG, a holding company which includes British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling and Level, signed on June 18 2019, a letter of intent for the acquisition of 200 Boeing 737 Max jets .
The reported value of the contract amounts to 24 billion USD. IAG has currently a fleet of 573 aircrafts.
The announcement, which comes at a difficult time for Boeing, brings a breath of fresh air to the aircraft manufacturer, which has been experiencing serious problems since the flight ban of its 737 MAX model.
