Increase in the number of Egyptian insurance brokers

Following the recent approvals granted by the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) to Omni and BrokerCare, the Egyptian market counts henceforth 81 insurance and reinsurance brokerage companies, among which nine are reinsurance brokers.

The last company to receive a reinsurance broker's license was Collins Reinsurance Brokers in August 2018.

Until 2008, and before a law authorizing the creation of brokerage firms came into force, brokers were traditionally individuals working with several companies.
