An insurance agent poses as Lord Voldemort and threatens his clients

An insurance agent from Prudential Insurance Singapore was sentenced on January 29, 2019 to 2 years and 5 months' imprisonment for having threatened tried to cheat customers in 2017.

Aged 36 years, Ye Lin Myint sent from Burma, his workplace, threatening letters, signed "Lord Voldemort", in reference to the famous black mage of the Harry Potter series.

Through an anonymous email address, linked to a Bitcoin wallet, Ye Lin Myint threatened 33 potential customers claiming from each one of them 1 Bitcoin, that is between 4 800 and 7 300 USD.
