Insurance premiums exceed 400 million USD

The Syrian insurance market has grown by 31.5% in 2010. All classes of business have benefited from this growth, except marine and third party liability insurance, which fell respectively by 9.3% and 30%. The premiums amounted to 404 million USD. Thanks to a jump of 425%, health insurance is the one which reported the highest level of progress. By contrast, the motor turnover has shown a modest increase of 7%. The insurance commission targets an overall premiums volume of 1 billion USD in 2015.
