Insurers totaled 1.4 million USD of claims

According to the Jordanian Insurance Federation (JIF), the market has reported a total of 20 million JOD (1.4 million USD) of losses in 2012. The weight of the motor class of business in the incurred losses is overwhelming. More than 10 000 claims remain unresolved because of the difficulties encountered by companies to pay compensation to policyholders. The financial results of all companies are strained by the burden of compulsory motor insurance whose premium level is very low.
