Insurers will sustain heavy losses due to floods and cyclone Yasi

Claims affecting Australian insurers following the recent cyclone Yasi and the Queensland floods are estimated at 1.07 billion USD. Losses affected mainly fire insurance (118 000 policies affected). So far, 97% of claims have been processed.
