Japanese insurers are making more recourse to remote control drones designed to assess damage caused by natural catastrophes. Not only does the new technology make it possible to reduce expertise periods but it also improves the quality of the data gathered.
Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance is the pioneer in this business. The non-life insurer has finalized the evaluation of the damage triggered by torrential rain that washed for just two days the northern part of Kyushu island in July 2017. Generally, this endeavor requires two working weeks.
