Lloyd's building shut down by climate activists

On 12 April 2022, sixty activists from Extinction Rebellion surrounded the Lloyd's building in London, forcing the company to shut down for an entire day.

Lloyd's alone provides nearly 40% of the world's energy, including projects based on highly polluting fossil fuels (coal, tar sand, etc.).

In 2020, Lloyd's committed to completely withdraw from the coal industry by 2030.
