Mergers and acquisitions increase in Q3 2020

An acceleration in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) was reported in Q3 2020; as it has been expected since the beginning of the year. This was due to plans to refocus the activities of several industry giants and the tightening of solvency requirements imposed by the legislators of several countries.

In 2020, the M&A transactions could exceed 100 billion USD mark. Among the largest transactions are the sale of Royal & Sun Alliance (RSA) and the disposal of Aviva's subsidiaries in Vietnam and Singapore.
