The Algerian Unified Automobile Bureau (BUAA) is currently working on the implementation of e-constat, a project aimed at digitizing the amicable motor vehicle accident report procedure, which is currently paper-based.
Thanks to e-constat, drivers will be able to report a road traffic accident via a digital platform. This initiative will help reduce claims processing times and strengthen the insurer-policyholder relationship.
The BUAA is also in the process of developing a national database of insured vehicles, a system that brings together data relating to insured vehicles circulating in Algeria. This database provides insurance companies with rapid, secure access to the information they need.
Measures to dematerialize the motor insurance certificate and to introduce an improved version of the “e-recours” platform are also under consideration.
All these proposals will shortly be submitted to the Algerian Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (UAR) and the Insurance Supervisory Commission (CSA).
