On 17 October 2024, the Caisse Centrale de Réassurance (CCR) started work on the establishment of an observatory to map out insurers in the regions most vulnerable to natural catastrophe risks.
This observatory will be developed in partnership with French insurance companies, and will be up and running in the first half of 2025. A first report is expected in the first half of 2025.
With this initiative, the public reinsurer is looking to set pathways to adapt to climate change, and to strengthen France's natural catastrophe regime.
