Price increases in the insurance of public transport of passengers

Increase, as of January 1, 2014 of third party liability tariffs for the vehicles of more than eight seats. The 10% rise approved by the department of insurance and social welfare (DAPS) has been decided by the Mutuelle d’Assurance des Transporteurs Unis (Matu).

This premium adjustment may not be sufficient to cope with the catastrophic results of the industry which posted a premium loss ratio above 150%. In Morocco, only two companies CAT and Matu are authorized to underwrite the risk motor public transport of passengers .
