Sanlam-Allianz merger: the operation is expected to be finalized within a year

Announced in May 2022, the proposed merger between the African activities of Sanlam and Allianz is expected to be finalized by September 2023.

The deal, which will create a top-tier pan-African non-bank financial services entity, is still pending the approval of the competent authorities.

Valued at over 2 billion USD, the insurance joint venture will be 60% owned by the South African group Sanlam.
