SanlamAllianz names Hennie Nel as CEO following Heinie Werth’s retirement

Hennie Nel has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SanlamAllianz, effective 1 September 2026.

He succeeds Heinie Werth, who is retiring after a distinguished 28-year career with the Sanlam Group, including the past three years as CEO of SanlamAllianz.

Werth will remain with the company until 31 December 2026, to ensure a seamless leadership transition.

Nel brings extensive experience in Africa’s financial services sector. Since joining South Africa-based Sanlam in 2012, he has held several senior leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Santam. Most recently, he served as Executive Head of Corporate Finance.
