Sompo secures licenses to operate in Belgium and the Netherlands

Sompo, a provider of P&C insurance and reinsurance solutions to businesses and individuals, has been granted licenses to conduct direct insurance business in Belgium and the Netherlands.

This initiative is in line with the insurer's strategy to reinforce its presence in continental Europe, having already established operations in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Switzerland.

Based in Bermuda, Sompo International is a subsidiary of the Japanese group Sompo Holdings.
