Malaga, Spain's sixth-largest city, experienced torrential rains on Wednesday 13 November 2024. Streets quickly turned into muddy rivers, paralyzing the Andalusian city and washing away cars and debris in their wake.
Public transport came to a standstill. Metro and train services to Madrid were suspended. Several flights were also halted.
Authorities in Malaga managed to warn residents of the danger just in time. No human casualties were reported. 4 200 people were evacuated to prevent the Valencia scenario from happening again.
