As part of a review of its business model, Swiss Re has decided to close its office in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire) and to cover the region from its headquarters in Zurich.
The purpose of this adjustment is to optimize resources and streamline the Swiss group's efficiency.
Upon definitive closure of the Ivorian office, Swiss Re will continue to underwrite reinsurance contracts exclusively with local ceding companies, in accordance with Article 308 of the CIMA Code.
By way of reminder, the Abidjan structure has been operational since 1 October 2019, after receiving approval from the Inter-African Conference on Insurance Markets (CIMA).
