Swiss Re: Net loss of 225 million USD in the first quarter 2020

Due to the global health crisis, Swiss Re recorded a loss of 225 million USD in the first quarter of 2020 compared to a net profit of 430 million USD a year earlier

Such negative result is due to a charge of 476 million USD in the P&C and liability class of business.

The deficit also takes into account the costs generated by the postponement of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. No further information has been given by the reinsurer on the matter.
