Towards the creation of a reinsurance company in Egypt

The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has examined the possibility of creating a reinsurance company. Based in Cairo, the new company will be endowed with a minimum capital of 1 billion EGP (63.5 million USD) with insurance companies operating in the MENA region as shareholders.

The creation of the new entity will lead to a revision of the reinsurance regulation in Egypt.
