An insurance seminar has recently been held at Al Khobar by Asharqia Chamber, a Saudi organization striding for the development of the private sector. The participants highlighted the need to improve the services provided to the insured. This initiative is all the more urgent as the claims lodged against insurance companies are rising relentlessly.
In his speech, Hesham Tashkandi, acting general manager of Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, (SAMA), indicated that SAMA aims at increasing insurance contribution to national economy. This activity, today, accounts for only 1.3% of GDP.
